๐๏ธ In Loving Memory of Tyler Alexander Pease
June 5, 1996 โ December 6, 2025
Age 29 | Ovid, Michigan
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we remember Tyler Alexander Pease, a devoted father, son, brother, firefighter, and friend who passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the age of 29.
Tyler was born in Lansing, Michigan, on June 5, 1996, the beloved son of Steven Lee Pease and Michele Rene (Stubbs) Pease. From a young age, Tylerโs life was rooted in hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for those around him. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School in 2014, carrying with him a strong work ethic and determination that would shape the man he became.
In 2023, Tyler proudly completed his apprenticeship and became a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter with the United Association of Sprinkler Fitters Union 669. He took immense pride in his work and was respected for his dedication, skill, and dependability.
Tylerโs heart for service was evident early in his life. Beginning as a wrestler at just five years old, he showed discipline and perseverance, competing in numerous regional wrestling tournaments throughout high school. In 2012, he joined the local fire department as a cadet, steadily working his way up through the ranks to serve as a lieutenant before retiring in 2025. His courage, leadership, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on those who served alongside him.
Outside of work and service, Tyler found his greatest joy in lifeโs simple moments. He loved hunting and fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. But above all, Tyler treasured being a father. His greatest love was for his daughter, Mila โPeanutโ Pease, who was the light of his life and the source of his biggest smiles and proudest moments.
Tyler lived with a heart that was open to all. To him, there were no strangersโonly friends he had not yet met. He would give the shirt off his back, show up without being asked, and stand by the people he loved without hesitation. He lived life fully and fiercely, and he was loved deeply in return.
He leaves behind a family who will forever hold his memory close: his beloved daughter, Mila Pease; his co-parenting partner, Carrie Sieffert; his parents, Steven and Michele Pease; his sister, Stevi (Doyle) Smith; his grandparents, Harold Pease, Janice (Linda Hooker) Pease, and Bill and Joy Wreggelsworth; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were family in every way. He is also lovingly remembered by his loyal dog, Boone.
Tyler was preceded in death by his grandparents, Michael Stubbs and Sue Pease; his great-grandparents, Alice and Larry Miller, Homer and Donna Stubbs, Arthela and Reo Pattison, and Harold and Martha Pease; and his cousins, Joey Hehrer, Zach Miller, and Angie Miller.
Though Tylerโs life was tragically short, the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the example he set will live on forever. His laughter, kindness, strength, and loyalty will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Anthony Brooks presiding. Visitation will take place at Smith Family Funeral Homes โ Houghton Chapel in Ovid, Michigan, on Friday, December 12, from 4:00โ8:00 P.M., and again on Saturday, December 13, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
