In Loving Memory of William R. Warnock
It is with deep sadness that we remember William R. Warnock, Jr., age 54, of Binghamton, NY, who passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025. William was found unresponsive in his cell at the Broome County Correctional Facility, where he had been serving a sentence related to robbery and menacing charges. Despite the immediate efforts of corrections and medical staff, William could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at 6:32 AM.
William entered the Broome County Correctional Facility on June 27, 2025. During his time there, he was known to request small personal care items, reflecting his attention to the simple routines of daily life. In the days prior to his passing, he had not exhibited unusual behavior or made medical requests beyond minor care for dandruff and dry skin.
The Broome County Correctional Facility, in cooperation with the Office of the NYS Attorney General and the New York State Commission on Corrections, is conducting a thorough investigation to fully understand the circumstances of Williamโs death. A complete autopsy will be performed by the Broome County Medical Examiner. Sheriff Fred Akshar expressed his commitment to transparency, noting, โWe are deeply saddened by Mr. Warnockโs deathโฆwe are committed to finding out what happened and sharing it with the public.โ
Williamโs passing marks a profound loss for those who knew him, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his memory be honored, and may he rest in peace.
