JONESBORO, Ark. — With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we remember the life of Brad King, a beloved father, friend, and community member whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating accident on Friday evening in Craighead County.
At just 48 years old, Brad’s life was marked by quiet strength, kindness, and an unwavering love for those around him. He was the kind of person who showed up when it mattered most — whether it was helping a neighbor, supporting a friend, or simply offering a warm smile that made people feel seen and valued. Those who knew Brad remember him as someone who lived with humility, hard work, and a deep sense of responsibility for the people he cared about.
On the evening of December 5, a tragic chain-reaction crash occurred on Highway 18 at the Lake City Bridge. According to Arkansas State Police, a 2013 Ford traveling east crossed into the center turn lane and collided head-on with a westbound 2023 Volkswagen. Moments later, a third vehicle, a Toyota traveling west, struck the Volkswagen in a secondary impact. The force of the crash left devastation in its wake, forever changing the lives of many families.
Brad King, the driver of the Ford and a resident of Manila, Arkansas, sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A young male passenger in the Volkswagen also lost his life, a heartbreaking loss that has left the community mourning not once, but twice.
Although Brad’s passing was sudden and deeply painful, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched. He was known as a man of integrity, a dependable presence, and someone who valued family and friendship above all else. Whether through his work ethic, his generosity, or the steady way he cared for others, Brad left an imprint that will not fade with time.
