With hearts filled with sorrow, we remember the lives of James William Yost, age 76, and Kenneth Michael Wade Clanton, age 33, two members of the Georgetown community whose lives were tragically taken on the night of December 5, 2025.
That evening, at approximately 10:27 p.m., the Georgetown Fire Department was dispatched to a residence at 300 Pipe Creek Lane following reports of smoke, alarms sounding, and a person collapsed in the yard. When first responders arrived, they discovered James William Yost deceased outside the residence near the front entryway of a neighboring home. Inside the residence, they found Kenneth Michael Wade Clanton, who also lived at the home.
What began as a fire emergency soon became a heartbreaking criminal investigation. As authorities worked through the scene, evidence revealed that both men were victims of homicide and that the fire had been intentionally set, turning what should have been the safety of home into a place of unimaginable loss.
James Yost was a long-time resident of Georgetown โ a man whose years were filled with stories, experience, and the quiet strength that comes with a life fully lived. He was known for his presence in the community and the warmth he shared with those around him.
Kenneth Michael Wade Clanton, just 33 years old, had a life still full of promise, plans, and potential. His passing is a devastating reminder of how fragile and precious life truly is, and how quickly everything can change.
The loss of these two men has sent shockwaves through their loved ones and the wider Georgetown community. Families, friends, and neighbors are now left with questions, heartache, and the difficult work of grieving a tragedy that no one should have to endure.
As investigators continue their work, the community holds fast to remembrance โ honoring James and Kenneth not for how they died, but for how they lived and what they meant to those who loved them.
