Bates, a 35-year-old resident of Oneonta, who was tragically killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Tuesday evening. The fatal accident occurred around 6:42 p.m. on Blount County Road 20 near Rogers Road, approximately five miles east of Oneonta.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agencyโs (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division, Bates was operating his 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he lost control while navigating a curve. The motorcycle veered off the roadway and struck a ditch before overturning.
