JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is investigating a tragic and violent incident that occurred Saturday afternoon at the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center (DBDC) in Pine Bluff. The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Darrion Williams and 22-year-old Jonathan Danard Harris.
According to officials, deputies were called to respond to a disturbance inside one of the housing units at the detention center shortly after 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025. When correctional staff arrived, they discovered two inmates suffering from severe injuries following what authorities have described as a “violent altercation.” Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by on-site medical personnel and emergency responders, both men were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an active investigation is underway, with detectives working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. stated that investigators are interviewing inmates and reviewing security footage from within the facility to identify what led to the confrontation and who may have been involved.
