The Sahuarita community is united in grief following a devastating multi-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of Robert Reid, 56, and Lizette Reid, 61. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the tragic crash occurred on December 11 at approximately 6:15 p.m. along South Nogales Highway near milepost 53. Deputies responded to the scene after a serious collision involving multiple vehicles. Investigators reported that a Kia Soul traveling southbound crossed the center line for reasons still under investigation, striking a northbound Chrysler Pacifica head-on. A Toyota C-HR traveling behind the Kia was unable to avoid the collision and became involved in the crash. A fourth vehicle, a Ford F650 traveling northbound, encountered the aftermath moments later and narrowly avoided further tragedy. Despite the complexity of the crash, it was the occupants of the Kia—Robert and Lizette Reid—who tragically lost their lives.
