Investigators determined that Angel was driving a 2009 Nissan Sentra eastbound in difficult weather conditions marked by rain and fog. While traveling along the highway, the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder. As Angel attempted to correct and return to his lane, the car overcorrected and crossed into the westbound lane, where it was struck on the passenger side by a 2017 Freightliner hauling a trailer. The crash proved fatal, turning an ordinary morning drive into a devastating tragedy.
