The community of Eden and the greater Concho Valley area is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 51-year-old Aleasa Ogle, whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating head-on collision on the night of December 10. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at approximately 9:21 p.m. on U.S. Highway 87, just over seven miles east of San Angelo—an ordinary stretch of road that became the site of an unimaginable tragedy.

Authorities reported that a 2022 GMC Canyon pickup was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway when it struck the 2022 Nissan Rogue driven by Aleasa. Despite wearing her seatbelt and the clear, dry weather conditions that evening, the impact was catastrophic. Judge Thomas Daniels later pronounced Aleasa deceased at the scene. The driver of the wrong-way pickup, a 26-year-old San Angelo resident, was transported to Shannon Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.
